Grade Breakdown

 

  • 20% Tests
  • 20% Projects
  • 20% Quiz
  • 20% Homework
  • 10% Class Participation
  • 10% Attendance

Tests

  • A unit test will be given at the end of each sub unit.
  • a review class will be held in the class period before a test. 
  • Sub unit tests will consist of
    • 15 multiple choice questions
    • 10 IDs
  • TEST RETAKES ARE AVAILABLE UNDER SPECIAL CIRCUMSTANCES ONLY. If you require a retake please contact me directly.
  • If you are absent on the day of the test please email me for a make-up.
  • YOU WILL NOT BE ABLE TO RETAKE A TEST IF YOU MISS THE TEST WITH AN UNEXCUSED ABSENCE

 

Projects

  • 4 Projects throughout the year
  • One at the end of each unit
  • Will vary to allow for creative, and alternative shows of comprehension.

Quizzes

  • a quiz will be given every other week during the last period of the week.
  • quizzes will be made up of a combination of short answer and multiple choice questions
  • content from homework and in-class notes will be fair game. 

Homework Policies

  1. Homework will be due at the end of each class period. 
  2. To hand in your homework you will place the homework in the homework collection tray next to the door.
  3. Homework must have the following in the top right corner or it will be marked incomplete.
    1. Name + Last Initial

    2. The Date in MM/DD/YEAR format

    3. The block you are in.

  4. If you are absent on the due date homework should be turned in the first day you return with ABSENT written on the top of the assignment. 
  5. Late homework is worth half-credit, and will not be accepted after the unit assessment. 

 

Class Participation

This will assessed by how much you participate in class. This includes speaking in class discussions, asking questions, and answering questions from both myself and  you peers.
